"The Camden Conference Seminar course at PCHS was pleased to attend this year's conference, "The Geopolitics of the Arctic: A Region in Peril," via live stream at the Center Theater in Dover-Foxcroft. Over the course of two days, students heard from a variety experts from around the world on topics as diverse as international security, climate science, indigenous rights, and public policy. A special congratulations to 11th grader Ruth Griffith who had two of her questions discussed and answered in real-time and heard by an audience across the world-- from Greenland, to Washington, D.C., to India, and beyond.
Students will now take their newfound knowledge back to the classroom to write policy papers for a statewide essay contest and to create individual capstone projects based upon what they learned.
We at PCHS are extremely proud how all of our students represented our district in this year's program and look forward to attending the Conference again in 2022.
